The way this year is going, I might take off the weeks before and after the Vintage 1000! But I'll be there. Rather than beat the crap out of the poor CL72 again, I think I'll be repairing a crashed XL250 I bought from a customer a few weeks ago. We've got lots and lots and lots of time left for me to do the work it needs, right?

Really excited to see what you guys are going to throw at us on the new route. I will be on a 78 XT500 that i managed to pick up shortly after the 2019 ride, Guess i need to start prepping it. If that doesn't work out i will bring my old TS250. Do we have a campground list yet? I would assume they would all have trees for all of us who sleep off the ground.

Look forward to meeting all the new riders and catching up with the old ones.

Hi Everyone,

Nice to meet you all, looking forward to the adventure. I'll be riding a 1974 bmw r90.

I'm a newbie this year so we'll see how it goes, planning on getting down there a day or two early depending on if I rent a truck or not. Anyone else heading down from the Tristate area?

Thanks,

Dave

@davidhunt I believe @troyvonkutzleben is planning on riding a BMW. @thomaswatkins has ridden one every year he's joined us - I believe he'll be riding it again this year!

My new frame arrived (at a transfer center) this morning! Much excite.

But the existing engine seems crappy/low compression. Luckily I think I have two parts engines that might be compatible. Surely there's a whole XL250 in there somewhere.

I will be riding another Penton this time, a 1974 Berkshire 100. Rode both 1000s last year. Looking forward to hitting the trail. The plan is to ride to the start again. Best hint for new riders is have quality air cleaners and add extra bracing to your rack.
