format
Each route is fully mapped by us. Navigation is by roll chart (roll charts are provided – you have to provide your own roll chart holder). No GPS. We camp at pre-selected and pre-reserved campgrounds (a different campground each night). There are varying levels of amenities, but there is at least a vault toilet. For campgrounds, we have a generator to charge phones, cameras, and other small electronics.
Your registration fee covers the support crew and vehicles, camping, food and beverages during the event, event t-shirts, roll charts, and maps. You will be responsible for paying for your own gas, parts, and any additional food/beverages.
There is a maximum of 30 paid riders, who are divided into smaller groups of 5-6 for riding. We assign groups on the first day to help provide a mix of first timers and people who have been on one of our trips before, riding abilities, and mechanical abilities.
Expect to be on the trail for 8 to 12 hours a day.
The pre-event riders’ meeting occurs the night before we leave, so you need to be at the departure point at least the evening before the event starts. There is also a daily riders’ meeting during the event to make you aware of anything specific to that day.
